Synopsis: What can be tamer than spending time with a bunch of sheep? When Bailey and Alexis visit a cousin’s sheep ranch, they expect a low-key, relaxing hiatus from every day life. Instead, they’re thrust into the throes of a missing millionaire, code-infested animals, and hapless cries for help. It’s "shear" adventure as the Camp Club Girls furrow into the fields and plow the plot on these prairies!

Favourite character: Brian
Least favourite character: Rude & Dude

Mini-review: I really liked the sheep shearing aspect of this. I've never read a book that talks about that. Didn't even know they had competitions for it. Also enjoyed that they solved a cold case.

Format: ebook
Length: N/A
Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis: A professional and very public rivalry with the owner of the corporate cookie cutter donut shop owner, leaves Heather as the prime suspect in his murder, when his body is discovered.
Health inspectors, shady business practices and a tangled web of intrigue unfold as Heather dives headfirst into the case, determined to clear her name and uncover who is the cold storage killer.

Mini-review: This one was better than the last one, but it's still horribly edited (if at all). The culprit was pretty obvious and the relationship between Heather and Ryan feels rushed.

The next thing Brett knows, the police are looking for her client, and the name she wanted on the tattoo isn't her fiancé's...

Favourite character: Brett
Least favourite character: Bruce

Mini-review: I really enjoyed this. Most cozy mysteries are set around bakers or crafters so to read one about a tattoo artist was really fun. A breath of fresh air, if you will. So unique. I loved reading about the tattoo shop and the people who work for Brett. I loved the tattoo design aspect, as well.

Stormswept: Finding true love in the midst of nature's fury.

Favourite character: Trey
Least favourite character: N/A

Mini-review: To be honest, I struggled a bit with this book at the beginning, and I think that was because of Sage's blind decisions to do stuff without thinking it through. Once she calmed down about halfway through the book, I enjoyed it a lot more and I can't wait to reread Antonia's story, as well as Dallas' story.

Review: Summer by Karen Kingsbury
Summer - Karen Kingsbury

Title: Summer
Author: Karen Kingsbury
Series: Sunrise, 2; Baxters, 12
Format: paperback, large print
Length: N/A
Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis: A NEW BEGINNING: Hollywood actor Dayne Matthews and Katy Hart are married and living in Bloomington, Ind., where Dayne has found a solution to his on-camera love scenes—he wants Katy to star in his next film. Katy wins the part and is cast opposite her super-star husband. The story of a small town girl's dream come true is too much for the press to resist, and in an effort to appease them, the couple agrees to a 12-episode reality show. It seems like the perfect compromise but by the time they finish filming the movie, they feel cracks around the edges of their marriage. Now they face an uncertain future, and possibly the end of everything that truly matters to them.
AN UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER: The Baxter family learns that Ashley and Kari are both pregnant, but an ultrasound reveals that something is wrong with one of the babies. As the summer progresses, the sisters pray for a miracle while trying to face the unthinkable. It's in this trying season that they must all learn the lesson God has been trying to teach them—He is still in control, and He will be with them regardless of the outcome.
AN EMOTIONAL FAREWELL: The Flanigans continue to draw closer to their only daughter, yet Bailey struggles to find her way amidst the turmoil of adolescence. She has always made good decisions, but she wants to experience more of life. Her friendship with Cody Coleman—the young border staying with the Flanigans—continues to blossom in this summer after his graduation. But when Cody decides to enlist in the Army, he'll have to say goodbye to the family he's come to love and the girl he'll never forget.

Favourite character: Cole
Least favourite character: Brooke & Katy

Mini-review: I'm not sure how I feel about this to be honest. It was emotional, but some of the characters (*cough* Brooke and Katy *cough*) ruined some things. Also I feel like Dayne and Katy's story wasn't talked about enough. It felt odd and rushed. Same with the Flanigans.

Review: Mandie and the Windmill's Message by Lois Gladys Leppard
Mandie and the Windmill's Message (Mandie, Book 20) - Lois Gladys Leppard

Title: Mandie and the Windmill's Message
Author: Lois Gladys Leppard
Series: Mandie, 20
Format: ebook, bind-up
Length: N/A
Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis: Mandie, Celia and Jonathan should have known that when Uncle Ned said there was a big mystery waiting for them in Holland that he meant a BIG mystery. Adventures had followed them at every stop on their summer travel through Europe with Mrs. Taft, Senator Morton and Uncle Ned, and Holland promised to be no exception. But what mystery could the quiet, peaceful land of the windmills possibly bring?
They won't be there long before they find out. Who's behind the mysterious resetting of the windmill's blades and what message are they sending? Is it a harmless prank or is someone really up to something bad? Are lives in danger?
Is someone out to destroy the royal family's reputation?

Favourite character: Albert & Jonathan
Least favourite character: Mandie

Mini-review: Okay, so, didn't like Mandie's grudges against Jonathan for something he obviously had nothing to do with. That is a big lesson in judgment right there and I'm honestly kind of shocked that her grandmother didn't send her back on the first ship home because she's a real piece of work (Mandie not Mrs. Taft). Not sure if the ending was supposed to be racist or not. Can't wait to get into the books I haven't read yet.

Shock Wave (Stormswept Book 1) - Dana Mentink

Why can't Sage let Antonia go? She's willing to let a dog die and/or fend for himself, but she has to go stupidly after a woman she's not even sure is in the building? She could've left before all this happened. But, no, every single noise must be Antonia. Despite the fact that someone's obviously trying to kill them.

Title: Mandie and the Mysterious Fisherman
Author: Lois Gladys Leppard
Series: Mandie, 19
Format: ebook, bind-up
Length: N/A
Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis: Traveling through Europe in the summer of 1901, Mandie and her group arrive in Antwerp, Belgium, where they plan to visit art museums as well as do sightseeing around the beautiful city. Mrs. Taft has made it clear that there are to be no more adventures like, Mandie, Celia and Jonathan have gotten involved with in France, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany.
But what are Mandie and her friends to do when adventure discovers them? Who would believe that a seemingly abandoned fishing boat has strange sounds coming from inside? Until they find out more, should they tell Mrs. Taft?
And what is the link between the boat and the suspicious man they think has stolen the priceless painting from the art museum?
Who is the bearded giant?

Favourite character: Jonathan
Least favourite character: Mandie

Mini-review: What to say about this book. Basically there's no mystery, really only in the kids imaginations. The only real mystery is that the Strange Woman shows up and at this point she's really starting to annoy me, mainly because I haven't finish the Europe trip arc and so I have no idea who or what she is.
